In the heart of Belgian Flanders, the CSI 3* in Wuustwezel hosted a high-tension 1.50m speed class this morning. Starting at 5:30 a.m., seventy-five horse and rider combinations took to the Bernard Mathy-designed course, in challenging conditions for the horses.
Dutch rider Sanne Thijssen dominated. Riding Farah, a nine-year-old mare, she clocked an impressive time of 57.40 seconds, securing her fourth international victory with this mount. This success underscores the strong partnership between the rider and her mare.
Thibeau Spits, representing the Belgian colours, completes the podium in second position with Gin Flip de Muze in 58''83. Jules van Hoydonck closes the top three on Minte van den Bisschop (60''54).
The organizers had to adapt to the extreme weather conditions, using fans and misters in the paddock. The second 3* event of the day, scheduled at 1.40m, has been postponed until tomorrow as a precaution.
Cyrine Cherif was the sole representative of the French colours but was unable to finish without a fault.
