The French Equestrian Federation is launching an innovative program for children just discovering horseback riding. An original activity book, featuring its mascot Trop Top, will be distributed to approximately 18,000 first-time riders aged 6 to 8 enrolled in accredited pony clubs.
Designed for first and second grade students who have earned their first riding license during the school year, this educational resource extends the pony club experience beyond camps and school holidays. Written by primary school teachers, it combines traditional subjects with the equestrian world through games, quizzes, and fun activities adapted for young learners.
The first few months of riding are crucial in shaping a young rider's development. This initiative aims to maintain enthusiasm, reinforce skills, and strengthen the bond with the pony before the start of the new school year. The workbook also involves parents, who discover the educational benefits of riding: self-confidence, responsibility, respect for the animal, and cooperation.
The FFE continues its strategy of retaining new practitioners by offering continuity between club activities and summer leisure time.
