Irish riders Trevor and Shane Breen dominated the 1.55m Grand Prix at the CSI 3* in Harthill, Scotland. Riding Highland President and Scarteen respectively, they achieved the only two clear rounds in this prestigious competition.
Trevor Breen wins with a time of 38.86 seconds ahead of his brother Shane, who finishes second in 39.18 seconds. A demonstration of strength that recalls their joint victory in Hickstead a year ago, where they had already dominated the top two places in the 1.50m.
The podium was completed by Great Britain's Joe Whitaker and his mount Hulahupe JR. Handicapped by four penalty points in the jump-off, he nevertheless recorded the fastest time of the second round with 36.76 seconds.
This impressive performance by the Breen brothers confirms their status as leading figures in Irish show jumping and demonstrates their complementary skills against European competition. No French riders were entered in this event.
