Aachen is crossing the final stretch before hosting the 2026 FEI World Championships. More than a month before the start (August 10-23), the Rhine city is intensifying its investments to transform its infrastructure and welcome the world's best riders in optimal conditions.
Brand new stables are being built to increase the accommodation capacity for horses competing in equestrian events. This work follows on from the major improvements made during the 2006 World Equestrian Games and the 2015 European Championships, when the city equipped its main stadium with floodlights and expanded the stands in the dressage arena.
The first multidisciplinary event of this scale since 2018, the 2026 World Championships will bring together show jumping, dressage, para-dressage, eventing, driving, and vaulting under one roof. This unifying format will allow the different disciplines to share the space and strengthen ties between the equestrian community.
Aachen thus confirms its position as a major center for international equestrian sport and its ability to orchestrate prestigious events.
